The Y’s grassroots nature inspires alignment with communities and populations who seek greater value for themselves and others.  The Y is committed to partnerships such that everyone can gain access and benefit from YMCA experiences.  Communities defined by geography, common interests, common challenges or even age groups can work as part of a larger YMCA effort and build stronger and relevant set of services for their community of interest.

"I am so pleased…the Y is willing to start a program aimed at helping people with Parkinson's.  I know movement is so good for people with Parkinson.  I do so appreciate all you and others in your group have done to show how dance, having fun and being with other people with the same problems can help those with Parkinson's.

Dixie Parker, Central Coast Parkinson Support Group

Whether it is starting programs  the Y is currently operating elsewhere or responding to a new emerging need, start-up funds are required.  Often once initiated, these programs can be and are self-sustaining  or require only a small subsidy.

Donations make meeting emerging needs possible.
