What Your Child Will Do at YDay Camps
Anything from swimming and team games to crafts and studying the environment. Most importantly, your child will be in a safe, friendly environment where the YMCA’s core values of trust, respect, responsibiity, fairness, caring and citizenship are an integral part of the curriculum.
Depend On Us
We choose our staff based on their experience and sensitivity to children’s needs. They will inspire your child and create opportunities for them to learn and explore the world around them.
Register Early
Camps are located throughout San Luis Obispo County. However, space is limited, so sign up soon! You do not have to be a YMCA member to register. A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit for each week of camp must be paid at registration. Full payment is due prior to the start of camp. A late fee will be charged if payment is late.

Financial Assistance
Every child should have the opportunity to attend camp. The YMCA’s Financial Assistance program, supported in part through contributions to the Annual Support Campaign, provides funds for those in need within our available resources. For more information...
Inclusive Recreation
The YMCA offers a program that is geared specifically for children from K- 8th grade with special needs. This program is in collaboration with Tri Counties Regional Center. It pairs the children with dedicated, trained YMCA staff who promote social skills and provide developmentally appropriate activities. YMCA Inclusive Recreation program successfully places children in a variety of YMCA programs, on a case by case basis. Click here for a registration form. To learn more, contact:

North County Character Camp K-4
Summer Day Camp
Ages: Entering Kindergarten through 4th Grade

Our YMCA Character Camp K-4 is designed to provide children
with challenging, exiting, entertaining, recreational and enriching activities in a safe supportive environment. We offer awesome age appropriate activities for our campers, such as swimming daily, cooking, field trips, service-learning, arts & crafts and more! Field trips this year will include Paso Park Cinemas, Bowling, Atascadero Zoo, Children’s museum, local parks along with on site presenters
such as Karate instructors, animal
presentations, Gymnastics instructors,
Hip hop dancers and more. A Summer
Camp T-shirt will be included.

North County Club 58
Summer Day Camp
Ages: Entering Grades 5 through 8

Our YMCA Club 58 Day Camp provides adolescents with fun filled summer days that have been specifically designed especially for this age group. Campers will participate in a variety of activities and travel throughout the county, while building skills, making friends, and challenging themselves on a daily basis. Group activities will focus on leadership and teamwork. Character development and asset building are incorporated on a daily basis. Campers will participate in service learning projects that promote civic responsibility and serve to connect young people with their community. Camp field trips will include Moro Bay submarine rides, Star farms, Culinary Arts, Cayucos Beach, and Atascadero Zoo to name a few. There will also be on site presenters such as Karate instructors, animal presentations, Gymnastics instructors, Hip hop dancers and more. A Summer Camp t-shirt will be included.

Atascadero Specialty Summer Camps
A-Town Hero’s Camp
Dates: June 25 - 27
Ages: 4 - 8 years old
Location: Atascadero Colony Park Community Center
Time: Noon to 2 pm

Do you want to learn about your town’s local heroes? YMCA’s
A-Town hero’s camp will teach your child about the heroes all around them. Visitors from the Atascadero Police Department and the Atascadero Fire Department will give presentations and a paramedic will give a small 1st Aid demonstration. Maybe someday your child will be an A-Town hero too.

Princess Camp

Art Camp
Ages: 4-8 years old
Let you little artist’s imagination run wild in YMCA’s art camp. Three fun days working with all forms of art; paint, water color, and even clay. Learn some fun facts about famous artist and create great memories.

Giant Sports Camp
Ages: Sessions offered for each age group
- 4-6 year olds
- 7-9 year olds
- 10-12 year olds
Come have some fun in Giant Proportions. Safe over-sized sports balls used to play classic games like basketball, soccer, and crochet. No fundamentals practiced here just giant healthy activity.

way to a very happy birthday. Parties
include 1 hour of instruction, 1/2 hour
of supervised free play, and the
birthday child walks away with a
special YMCA t-shirt. Appropriate
gym clothes required.

Atascadero Futsal (Indoor Soccer)

The City of Atascadero Parks and Recreation and the San Luis Obispo County YMCA are proud to bring you Futsal. Futsal is indoor soccer played
on a small court with a variation of the outdoor soccer rules; it is played with five players at a time. For more information on the game itself, visit

YMCA Little Adventures Preschool is
designed for 2 1/2 to 5 year olds to learn
through positive experiences in a
structured environment. Each day
includes a variety of activities to
develop both large and small motor
skills, group activities and a craft. Zoo-
phonics curriculum is taught daily, and
this method of teaching the alphabet is
a great tool in reading readiness. Little
Adventures Preschool prides itself in
building character and teaching skills
that last a lifetime.

Club Y - Before and After School

Our Club Y locations are licensed by
the State of California. The staff is
college educated and works with the
goal of providing a safe, fun and
enriching experience for your child.
Safety is priority at the YMCA and we
always go the extra mile. We ensure
that our sites model all the best
practices. When your child participates
in Club Y, they receive more than just
quality, licensed childcare. Children feel
valued, are mentored by positive adult
role models, are taught character
through our Character Counts
curriculum and gain a sense of
appreciation for their community. Our
Club Y program offers specialized clubs
that meet your child’s developmental
needs and interests. The children gain
confidence, practice good citizenship
and develop skills that will last a
lifetime. Each month your child will
have the opportunity to enroll in
activities that suits their own needs and
interests. Clubs include but are not
limited to homework club, drama club,
sports clubs and for the 5th and 6th
graders, leadership club.

The San Luis Obispo County YMCA offers a
dynamic after-school enrichment and safety
program, funded through a grant and overseen
by the California Department of Education in
partnership with the Paso Robles Unified School District.
The YMCA program offers age-appropriate after school
enrichment activities designed to support academic
achievements. Beyond academics, the YMCA after-school
programs are dedicated to teaching each of the six pillars
of character and increasing assets in our youth. Through
programs such as these, the Y is helping youth develop
skills such as self-regulation, communication, problem solving,
negotiation and critical thinking. We know that all of these
skills make learning easier as students grow. The students
also receive healthy snacks and are involved in recreational
activities aimed at increasing their activity and lowering the
incidence of childhood obesity.

Y Teen X-Treme 
Ages: 6th – 8th grade
Location: Centennial Park Game
Room, Paso Robles
Dates: September through June
Time: Monday – Thursday, after school
until 5:15pm
Cost: Free!
Middle school kids now have a cool
place to hang out after school. Food,
games, sports, projects, art, community
service, leadership development and a
chance to make some new friends is
what Y Teen X-Treme is all about. This
program consists of field trips,
character development and lots of
other activity choices. Come on by
and grab a snack— we’re sure you will
want to stay!

Spring Camp Opportunities
Atascadero Spring Camps
Held at the New Atascadero Colony Park!
Art Camp: Calling all future Picasso’s!
March 25-27, 1:00pm-3:00pm
Learn how to design beautiful masterpieces
and have fun! Artists will work with color and
different forms of art: clay, painting, watercolors
and recycled materials. There will be an art show
at the end of camp. Each artist will receive a
framed piece of their artwork.
Princess Camp:
March 25-27. 1:00pm-4:00pm
Children will spend 3 magical days learning
princess etiquette, playing in castles, and
making princess treats and accessories. There
will be a royal tea party the last day of camp.
Participants are encouraged to dress in their
favorite princess attire.
Superhero Camp:
March 25 -27, 9:00am-11:00am
Calling all Superhero’s! Camp is designed
to provide children with an opportunity to dream,
play and be more powerful than a locomotive.
Participants are encouraged to come dressed
as their favorite superhero.
Bitty Sports Camp:
March 25 - 27, 9:00am-11:00am
Learn to play basketball, soccer, and golf!
Kids will be active, have fun and learn healthy
fundamentals.

Offered March 17 -28 at Centennial Park
in Paso Robles.
Spring Camp is designed to provide your children with challenging, exciting, entertaining, recreational and enriching activities daily. The YMCA also incorporates the 6 pillars of character into every aspect of our day, as well as unique components of asset development designed to develop the total person—spirit, mind, and body. San Miguel Karate

Monday & Wednesday evenings.
Cost: 1 class/week = $50 per month
2 classes/week = $60 per month

Learn the art of self-defense with
family and friends! The YMCA in San
Miguel is offering karate for youth,
adults and families by Shorin-Ryu
Karate, which is a traditional Okinawan
Karate and Kobudo style. Sensei Glen
Rathwick teaches classes, under the
direction of Renshi David Rogers (239

basketball, volleyball and badminton.

Shandon Activities
The YMCA regularly provides family nights in Shandon. Movie nights, dances, Bingo, craft nights, Family Fun Days, and more! The Y’s focus in Shandon is providing special events and activities for middle school kids and families. These events are
great fun and most of them are FREE!

Cambria Teen Center
The YMCA operates a drop-in after-school
& Saturday program for teenagers, grades
6th through High School, in the Cambria
area during the school year and
summer time.
School Year Hours Are:
3:00 to 6:00 pm Monday & Tuesday
2:00 to 6:00 pm Wednesday
3:00 to 6:00 pm Thursday & Friday
1:00 to 5:00 pm Saturday
Teens, grades 6th through High School, may use this
Center for no cost. The Teen Center is funded by many
local charity non-profit agencies and events
(i.e. Lions Club, Country Coast Classic Bike Ride,
Cambria Mayor's Race, & Rotary Club). The YMCA
administers the program and provides professionally
trained staff to work with the teenagers.
The Teen Center is located at 870 Main Street.
