What Your Child Will Do At YDay Camps
Anything from swimming and team games to crafts and studying the environment. Most importantly, your child will be in a safe, friendly environment where the YMCA’s core values of trust, respect, responsibiity, fairness, caring and citizenship are an integral part of the curriculum.
Depend On Us
We choose our staff based on their experience and sensitivity to children’s needs. They will inspire your child and create opportunities for them to learn and explore the world around them.
Register Early
Camps are located throughout San Luis Obispo County. However, space is limited, so sign up soon! You do not have to be a YMCA member to register. A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit for each week of camp must be paid at registration. Full payment is due prior to the start of camp. A late fee will be charged if payment is late.

The San Luis Obispo County YMCA offers a dynamic after-school enrichment and safety program, funded through a grant and overseen by the California Department
of Education in partnership with the Lucia
Mar Unified School District.
The YMCA program offers age-appropriate after school
enrichment activities designed to support academic
achievements. Beyond academics, the YMCA after-school
programs are dedicated to teaching each of the six pillars
of character and increasing assets in our youth. Through
programs such as these, the Y is helping youth develop
skills such as self-regulation, communication, problem solving,
negotiation and critical thinking. We know that all of these
skills make learning easier as students grow. The students
also receive healthy snacks and are involved in recreational
activities aimed at increasing their activity and lowering the
incidence of childhood obesity.

Year-Round Sports Programs
Five Cities Youth
Roller Hockey
Ages: 5-17
Targeted to all skill levels, including
beginners, the Roller Hockey program was developed to offer children an alternative sport that provides great body conditioning without the “down time” seen in other sports such as baseball.
Even if your child doesn't’t know how
to skate, they are encouraged to try
this sport. The YMCA’s experienced
coaches will teach all of the fundamentals
of the sport, including how to skate and
how to improve skating for the sport.
An introductory clinic and equipment
swap meet will be held at Santa Rosa Park
in San Luis Obispo on Saturday, March 8th
from 9:30 to 12:30 pm. The free clinic is a
great way for those who may be interested
in the sport to learn more and see what it entails.
The program strives to encourage skill
development, self-confidence and positive
peer interaction. It also provides a unique
opportunity for parents to share quality time
with the children, and have fun doing it!
